Digital X-rays produce a fraction of the radiation compared to traditional film, and the images are available instantly.
Gum health assessment. We measure the depth of the pockets around your teeth to check for early signs of gum disease. Catching periodontal issues early is one of the most important things a routine exam can do for you.
Bite and jaw evaluation. Grinding, clenching, and bite misalignment can cause headaches, jaw pain, and worn-down teeth. We screen for TMJ issues and talk through what we find.
Oral cancer screening. This takes about two minutes and could save your life. We check for unusual sores, discoloration, or lumps in your mouth, throat, and neck. Early detection makes all the difference.
Treatment planning. If we find anything that needs attention, we walk you through your options clearly. No pressure, no upselling. Just honest recommendations based on what your teeth actually need.

Most appointments take 45 minutes to an hour. New patient visits run a bit longer (closer to 75 to 90 minutes) because we take a full set of X-rays and spend more time reviewing your dental history. Follow-up cleanings are typically faster once we have your baseline on file.
For most patients, no. You may feel some pressure during scaling, especially if there's significant tartar buildup or if it's been a while since your last cleaning. If you have sensitive teeth or gums, let us know before we start. We can adjust our approach to keep you comfortable.
The cost varies depending on your insurance coverage and whether you need a standard cleaning or a deeper cleaning (scaling and root planing). A regular cleaning (prophylaxis) removes plaque and tartar from the surfaces of your teeth and along the gumline. A deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) goes below the gumline to remove bacteria and tartar from the root surfaces. Deep cleanings are recommended when there are signs of gum disease. Dr. Huynh will let you know which type you need based on your exam.
We walk you through exactly what we found, show you the X-rays or images, and explain your treatment options in plain language. Nothing happens without your understanding and consent. If you need a filling, crown, or other treatment, we can often schedule it quickly so you don't have to wait.
